Happy 6th Birthday, My Georgia!

I found this sign in Delaware earlier this year and thought it would be a fun thing to put in the yard when one of the Garners have a B-day. However, it might be a little girlie for Big Daddy?! I put the sign in the yard this morning and Georgia asked, "Is that for me?" I told her it was for me. Of course I was told, "M-o-m-m-a...it...is NOT!" Please excuse the flower bed behind it. We still need to weed it.

G's birthday party is tomorrow, and we are having a "Princess Tea Party". G is so excited about dressing up for her party. Please pray our air conditioning will be fixed by tomorrow morning so we don't have to postpone the party. It has been rough today with no A/C trying to get everything ready. It's comfortable in the house as long as you are not moving. :~)

Happy Birthday, I love you my sweet G!

Conversations With The G...

I picked G up at Summer In The Son at church and went to Sam's to feed her a hot dog so I could get her back to church for VBS. It was really strange to leave her at VBS without a parent there. I did not like it, but I left her knowing she was in good hands. Anyway, while sitting in Sam's our conversation went like this:

G: "Momma.......look at the lady!"

Me: "G don't point."

G: "But Momma.......she has black AND purple hair."

Me: "Yes, G......that does look purple."

G: "Momma........is that color or magic marker?"

Where this kid gets these things, I have no idea!!

Just Finished Reading...

I finished reading Bringing Up Girls this morning. If you have a girl (college and younger), you definitely need to read this book. Dr. Dobson is a very wise man. I'm so thankful he shares his wisdom. There is a lot of information in this book that I don't know where to begin to share any of it. Just read it!!

Tennis Anyone?

G's new favorite sport is tennis. She is really enjoying the class. Once again, I would like to say the Howard County Recreation and Parks is awesome! The coaches are wonderful. They are so patient and full of energy. I hope this and basketball are two sports that G continues to like and enjoy.

The Liberty Bell...

There is a program on the Trinity Broadcasting Network called Drive Thu History with Dave Stotts. I love watching and listening to him tell about history. Tonight, Dave was in Philly. If you haven't been, you must go.

Did you know the Liberty Bell has a verse stamped on it? My tour guide never told me that one, go figure! The verse is Leviticus 25:10, "...proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof..."

I long for my Southern home, but I really do love being around all of the history in this area. I never get tired of the monuments in DC. I just get tired of the tourists and will be glad when you all go home in a month. LOL!!

Where's My Car?!

Have you ever asked that question? I rarely lose my car, but one particular instance in Dallas, TX, my car was nowhere to be found. My friend Chas and I were at Market in Dallas. While we were there we stayed with some of her friends. The first day there, Chas' friends came downtown to pick us up to go to dinner. When we came back to the parking garage, my Honda Accord was gone. Robbie being the typical guy kept saying, "girls can't ever remember where they park their cars," as he continued to drive around looking for it and running his mouth...the madder I got. I finally yelled at him to pull over. Lord forgive me again, because it was not said in a Christian or Southern manner. The one thing I hate is for someone to consider me a brainless, air-headed, clueless girl. My car was gone!

I called the police, who told us to go home someone would call to take our information for a report. Are you kidding me? My Daddy always taught me never to leave the scene of a crime or accident. I told the operator we would wait! Two and a half hours later, no police. However, the Lord sent one to our location. The officers told us it was a good thing we flagged them down, or it would have been another six hours. The funny thing is I told myself at that moment I never wanted to live in a big city. Ha, where am I now? DC!

The next day, I rented a red convertible and drove home to Mississippi in style! By the end of the weekend, my car was found on cinder blocks with all the wheels missing, no floor mats, no sun visors, no Honda emblems, dented bumper and front quarter panel, and red paint across the hood. The windows and sunroof were left open and car was rained on for three days! My car had gone joy riding in "Big D" without me. I affectionately called her "The Hussy" after that for stepping out on me. "The Hussy" finally bit the dust two and a half years ago, and we sold her on eBay.

After sitting in the parking garage of the Columbia Mall for 2 hours last year, we decided to go back to Laurel for the fireworks. These were taken with my phone, please excuse the quality.

Happy Birthday Big Daddy!

For Rick's birthday, we went to Mike's on the South River in Annapolis. Rick decided he finally wanted to try to eat Crabs. Yes, we've had crabs, but not whole ones. It was a beautiful evening on the water, and Big Daddy enjoyed his meal!

Set up and ready.

One of the victims.

The aftermath.

Nasty!

G showing us how big the Daddy fish are in the river.
There were also jelly fish in the river.

Always ready to ham it up.
Wonder who she gets that from?
