Maryland Day!

Maryland Day is a huge community event at the University of Maryland. This was our first year to attend. Maryland Day is spread out all over the UM campus. We only saw a small portion of the activities because it was so hot, and the 4 year old was having a meltdown. Below are some of the pics from our day.

Spring Break & Easter Pics...

The Garner family went to the beach in Ocean City for G's Spring Break and Easter Weekend. It was chilly, but nice to get away for a long weekend.

G is like her Mommy, she had to put her feet in the sand.

G in her Easter Dress and the bunny ffrom her Easter Basket.
She named the bunny Sister.
Think she is trying to tell us something?

G's Easter basket while we were at the beach. The Easter
bunny was creative using the box from G's boots since we didn't
bring her basket out of town with us. G asked for chocolate
eggs for Easter so that is what she received.

Spring Break

Last week was G's Spring Break so we decided to go to Ocean City, MD from Thursday through Monday. It was too cold on the Eastern Shore to get in the water or walk on the beach. However, it was nice to get away, but Rick and G did make one stop at the beach. We shopped at the outlet malls at Rehobeth Beach, DE, refilled our popcorn buckets at Fisher's, played mini-golf in the freezing wind, ate wonderful pizza at Tugo's and mexican at Tequila Mockingbird. All our usual places to go when in the OC.

Easter morning we went to church at a fire station in Delaware and then got a tour of the fire trucks. G looked cute sitting in them with her Easter dress. I love the OC. The Atlantic Ocean beaches are my favorite. Acutally my most favorite beaches are the ones we found in Vieques, Puerto Rico. But since I can't go there at a drop of a hat, the OC will always do just fine.

Thank you Jim and Opal for the use of your condo. It's a home away from home...at the beach!!

Sleeping Beauty

I hadn't mentioned our trip last month to see Sleeping Beauty. Rick and I couldn't wait for it to be over. The first Act was three modern ballet pieces, intermission, and then...finally...Sleeping Beauty began. During the whole first act all I heard in my ear from G trying to whisper, "Where's Sleeping Beauty?" I wish I had a dollar for every time she asked. Sleeping Beauty finally started, and G loved it.

At the end, Sleeping Beauty's wedding party is entertained with solo ballet pieces. The solos or duets were Aurora and her prince, Blue Birds, a white cat and Pus in Boots (Rick and G were confused on this one), and Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf. The funniest thing was G didn't know who the wolf was with Little Red Riding Hood. Why? Because G's version is Cajun Red Riding Hood from the Hadleys, and the bad guy in this version is an alligator! G asked who the girl in red and wolf were and then asked where's the alligator? Good job my Cajun friend!!

G Did It!!

G has been talking about Disney World, but we have told her she's not ready to go. Why? Because she screams bloody murder when she sees the Easter Bunny or Santa. I went online to show her the Disney characters next to kids and what they look like in real life. G said she didn't want to go, but still talks about going to Mickey's house. So, Friday night I told G if she would hug the Easter Bunny, shake the Maryland turtle's hand (Testitudo), and sit on Santa's lap, we would take her to Disney world. At the easter hunt at the zoo, G took the first step...
