Turning 40...

I rarely write about myself on my blog or of things I believe. I mostly make it about G. So, I decided I am 40...maybe I ought to say something about it.

I really don't feel much different, except just the fact of getting older bothers me. Someone asked me if I feel more relaxed, but I never felt stressed or anxious before I turned 40. Why should I? My Lord has always had it under control! I can credit this to wonderful parents who have taught me the true meaning of life - My Jesus. I have learned as Paul says in the Bible to be content in every situation.

Why do I not want to get older? Because I love life! I know that when I die I will go to Heaven, and some can't wait to get there. But I am in no hurry! This 40 year old is having a great time here on earth. There are so many things I want to continue to experience and enjoy. One of those things is a week and half in a beautiful beach house with my friends and family in June.

Is life easy all the time? No, not all! One of the hardest things for me right now is living in MD. It's a lot different here than the South, but I am content. I know I will not be here forever, but it is where the Lord has me now. Only the Lord knows what else is in store for this 40 year old. :-)

I Have A Dead Dog In My Car...

I read this and just had to share it with the rest of you. The excerpt below is from my former boss' blog. She took her grandsons to Pennsylvania to ski. While the boys hit the slopes, she hung out at Starbucks and had some interesting visitors.

My conversation with my next table mate seemed normal enough until she blithely told me, " I have a dead dog in my car." My eyes shot up from the book I was trying to read and I was all ears. It seems her beloved, huge (part Great Dane) mutt had had a seizure the night before and had died before they could get him to the vet. She and her husband struggled to get the 100 plus pound seizing beast into the back of their station wagon, when he expired. She called her vet and asked if they could bring the dog's body in to have him cremated, but the vet 's office was closed for a few days due to the snow storm. After discussing the pros and cons of removing the dog's body, they decided it would be OK to leave it in the car since it was so cold outside. That morning her husband was able to dig out and go to work in their other car. She was overcome with sadness and decided to cheer herself up by going skiing. So she drove the station wagon with the dog's stiff, straight-legged body to the ski resort and parked it in the parking lot.

My immediate reaction was to be concerned that a parking lot attendant might spot the body and assume that some negligent pet owner had left a live animal in the car and it had frozen to death. But she assured me that she had covered him with his favorite blanket. After skiing she planned to drive over to an open space near Gettysburg, so he could visit, one last time, the field where he loved to run.

Hanna Andersson

I love the Hanna Andersson store! The clothes are so soft, and they wash really well. I ordered the dress in the picture below for G for the Summer. It is much cuter in person, and of course looks great on the G! :-)

Conversations With The G...

Saturday morning the family was piled in the bed, and G kept putting her hands on my face. I asked her to keep her hands off my face because my face is breaking out. G gets right in my face and says, "Let me see...I don't see any CRACKS!" :-)

Covnersations With The G...

Tonight G brought home her new books from the school library. She and I sat down on the couch to read them. This girls loves books as much as her Momma! The first book we read was "Happy Birthday To You" by Dr. Suess. Have your read this book? I kept laughing because I was stumbling over the words. At one point I looked at Rick and said, "Whew, reading Dr. Suess will get you tongue tied!" G said, "Let me see!" I looked at her not sure what she meant and she said, "Open you mouth. No it not! You tongue okay!" :-)

Conversations With The G...

While running errands on Saturday, Rick mentioned he was getting a headache, but wasn't sure why. I replied, "Maybe it's the four footer." G piped in, "I no have four feet! I only got two." Love that little one!! ;-)
