Basketball...

Howard County Recreation and Parks is absolutely wonderful, and they offer great activities for all ages. G is taking her second Kiddie Basketball class and loves it! The two coaches are great with the kids. I can see a big difference in G's abilities in her second go around. I really hope basketball is something she will stick with and enjoy. So far she definitely has the height for it! :-)

My Gamer

On Saturday after ballet, sweet Little G (neighbor) gave Big G the camera you see in the pictures. This camera also makes videos and games. It took Georgia no time at all to figure out the games, and it is a great toy for the car. We ran errands and this is what I saw in my rear view mirror.

In case you are wondering about the fancy coat?!?! It's G's Sunday coat for church. She has been asking to wear it all the time lately. Why not?! This will be her last winter in it so she might as well enjoy it. I wish you could see the whole outfit because she picked it all out for herself. G has on jeans, red cowboy boots, t-shirt, and the fancy red coat. She's my fashionista!

Just Finished Reading...

I was able to read a lot during our two blizzards. Those were some crazy snow storms! I did not post pics on my blog because they are on FB. When I get around too it, I guess I should post some on here too.

Anyway, this post is about reading and not snow. The Lucky One was my second Nicholas Sparks book to read, and I really liked it! I also read Dear John, but in my opinion, The Lucky One is better. No, I have not seen the Dear John movie. I am waiting for it to come out on Netflix. The Lucky One if definitely a good read!

Just Finished Reading...

I think this is a wonderful story and movie! I could have done without all of the explanation about football plays and why football is the way it is. Just the story, please! Definitely worth reading.

Punxsutawney Phil

G's class made Punxsutawney Phil to celebrate Groundhog Day. We are definitely having six more weeks of winter with the current snow storm and more snow to come next week.

Homework!

G's homework this week was to decorate a snowman with items from around the house and to write a sentence about the snowman. G declared hers to be a Rainbow Snowman named Sam. I wish I had taken a picture this afternoon of all of the snowmen. They were all creative, but below is a pic of G's.

Conversations With The G...

G brought her report card home today, and it was another good one. The child LOVES school! We called Mamaw and Papaw in Mississippi to tell them about G's report card. During the conversation Mamaw told us Papaw's feet had been swollen and he had to prop them up. The conversation with G went like this:

G: "Someone took his feet?"

Me: "What honey?"

G: "Papaw lost his feet?"

Me: "No, baby."

G: "But...Mamaw said they were STOLEN!"

Me: "No dear. Mamaw said they were swollen."

Maybe G isn't hearing enough of that wonderful Southern drawl to know how to translate it!

Just Finished Reading...

I picked this book up at Walmart because I thought the cover and the name were interesting. Yes, I use such great thought in choosing a book. However, it was a really good book, and I enjoyed it!

Conversations With The G...

G is a big girl who no longer needs a lot of help getting ready for bed at night. Rick or I still hang around upstairs just in case. Tonight I was sitting on the bed reading while she was in the bathroom. G comes out to pick a DVD to watch until it's time for bed. G puts her DVD in the player, turns to look at me and says, "Momma, you readin' with ya mouth closed?" I replied, "Yes, honey. That's what I am doing." My sweet baby girl!

An E-mail...

Received this e-mail today:

Subject: Live/Dead Sperm Viability Kit

Does anyone use Molecular Probes Live/Dead Sperm Viability Kit? I use this kit occasionally and I encountered a problem last summer where some cells did not accept the stain. I’d like to know if anyone else has had the same problem. Thank you.

I read this and laughed so hard I was crying! Keep in mind I work at a research center. Any time the scientists have questions, need help, have surplus of items, etc., they send an e-mail to everyone on campus. Needless to say, I have never received an e-mail like this before!
