The Princpal's Office...

I am sitting in the chair having my hair cut this afternoon, and I receive a call. I let it go to voice mail because I was being pampered. I finally checked voice mail...it was G's school. Since I am still learning the Samsung and couldn't tell if I had a voice mail, I called the school. I was told, "Yes Mrs. Garner, Mrs. Wallace called for you. Georgia is in her office." What?

Well, after hanging up on them several times because I don't have the hang of the Samsung quite yet, I realize I have several voice mails. I am told in the voice mail that G wouldn't listen to her teachers, was being sassy, and distrupting the class. Since the school is right around the corner, I just went to the school to talk to the principal and Georgia.

After talking to Mrs. Wallace, the principal, I go to G's class and pull her out. I wish you could've had seen the look on her face! I take her hand, and we begin to walk down the hall looking for a place to talk.

This is our conversation:

G: "Mommy are we going home?"
Me: "No"
G: "Why?"
Me: "We need to talk"
G: "I want to go back to my class."
Me: "You need to talk to me first."
G: "Mommy, I really want to go back to my class."
Me: "Not until we talk about why you were sent to Mrs. Wallace's office."
G: "Oh!"

Yep, our first trip to the principal's office! My hard-headed, strong-willed, little choleric needs to learn and understand authority and why God places us under different kinds of authority. This is only the first four and a half years. Lord God, help me please!

Here We Go...

Registered the G for ballet classes this morning. I have become a ballet mom. The Winter/Spring session goes through the middle of June, and then there is a Spring Performance. I can't wait until the Spring Performance to see how she does. It's going to be interesting watching the little Choleric.

The fun part...Rick has to take her by himself Wednesday for the first class. This means get her dressed and put her hair in a ponty tail. I would love a picture! Why will I not be here...I will be in Vieques, Puerto Rico for a girls trip with mom and Katie! Yes, taking another chance to rub it in! ;-)

Brookside Nature Trial & Visitor's Center

Before the Christmas break, Grammy and I chaperoned G's class to the Brookside Nature Trail & Visitor's Center in Montgomery County. The center has animals found in the Maryland area, live and stuffed. The staff did a skit with animal puppets talking about the changing seasons, but the skit mainly focused on hibernation and who hibernates. It was really good and very cute! After the skit, the staff took the kids on a nature trail outside showing where them where different animals live. Below are some pics of the adventure.

G and her two men. Yes, I think I'm in trouble!

All By Myself!!

New Year's morning I went all by myself to Target, actually two different Targets (Columbia and Laurel). Target was having a sale on their winter clothes, so I went to buy clothes for G for next Fall. They looked so big, but they were on sale. I ordered a decaf tall sugar-free vanilla latte and enjoyed my stroll. I love my family, but I also love my time alone.

Thank you honey, for keeping the G so I could get out of the house alone. Target also had their Spring and Summer clothes out. I had to to talk myself out of purchasing them and stay focused on why I was shopping, but they were sooo cute!

I Did It!!

I am now on and addicted to Facebook!! Oh my!!! Yes, this post is at 1:50 A.M. Geesh!!

A Small World...

It's a small world...even at the local Longhorn. We went with Grammy and Poppy to eat dinner tonight, and our waiter was born in Oxford, MS and grew up in Baton Rouge, LA. We knew he was a Southerner because he was NICE and had a Southern accent. ;-)

Happy New Year!!
