Charleston, South Carolina

Below are pictures of Charleston, SC. I don't know what most of them are so I am just putting them in this entry without any explanations. We took a horse drawn carriage through the historic district. I don't know who loved it more - G or me? I love and miss the South!

Muddle Beach!

Georgia and I are headed to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina tomorrow for an entire week or Muddle Beach according to G. We will not come home until next Saturday. Yes, a whole week of chilling on the beach. The condo is a three bedroom, so I get my own room, and it's on the beach with two pools. Hopefully, I will make a dent in the four books I am bringing, which have been by my bed for who knows how long.

Our first stop in Myrtle Beach will be McAlsiter's Deli, awesome!! I miss this place. Is it sad when I go South that I plan my trip around where I want to eat? The food is not the same up here, believe me! My other stops are Dillards - miss it too and Charleston. I have wanted to go to Charleston every since watching the TV mini-series North and South. I may be born a Yankee, but I am such a Southerner at heart!!! On a sad note, Rick can't get off work to go with us, but I am sure he will enjoy his week at home without his girls. Don't worry, he has a list.

Most of the new entries are in August or September. I like to put the dates on the events when they took place instead of my blog entry date! Enjoy!!

Soooo Sorry...

I will blog soon, I promise! I have pics and starting new school stories. Georgia's having to learn who is in charge in the classroom. Where did she get this hard headedness (if that's a real word) from? My friends, don't answer that - PLEASE!!

In The Beginning...

The Garner family went to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (Amish country) this weekend to see the Production of In The Beginning, the story of Adam and Eve. It was amazing! Georgia was in awe the entire time. The angels wore gold glitter heelies(?). You know, the shoes with a wheel in the heel. It was a way to make them look like they were floating. You just had to see it!

The food in Lancaster is awesome and everything is so inexpensive, unlike Maryland!! Anyway, we spent the night, and the pictures below are the view outside our window. We stayed at the Hershey Farm and Inn. Are you jealous? It is a beautiful place!!

My Cajun Came To Visit!!

My Cajun (Katrice Hadley) came to visit for a long weekend and to go to the Celine Dion concert. The visit and the concert ROCKED!! I was in need of some Southern Comfort...friendship and not a drink!! It is so tough up here in one of the most liberal areas of the United States. However, I know to be content in whatever circumstance God puts me in. We just long for our Southern Home. Please pray God will move us South before I have to really let go of Georgia's apron strings. If you want to come visit - please do. We long for Southern friends who share our views!! Ask Katrice, I am a great tour guide, well the James (GPS) and me. His name is James because he speaks with a British accent like Bond...James Bond!

First Day of School!

Georgia started 4 year old preschool today. She was so excited! Me? I was excited to drop her off - not a single tear!! I began to wonder if something was wrong with me? After talking to co-workers and my sister, who has a co-worker who felt the same...I think I'm normal, but don't tell anyone!! ;-)

Below are some pictures of Georgia's first day. If you look closely, you'll notice Maddy (the Beagle) and Bones (the cat) getting in on the pictures. It seems like one of them is at the door in all of the pictures.
